How to Properly Prepare the Skin Before Waxing Correction
1. Basic Cleansing from Makeup
We use regular micellar water and brow foam. This will help remove makeup (if present) and external impurities (like dust, etc.).
2. Toner Before Waxing Correction
This lotion should have a moderate pH. It will prepare the skin for depilation, degrease, cleanse, and take care of the skin. The lotion also promotes better adhesion of wax to the skin.
3. Peeling - Scrub. This product gently removes dead skin cells and helps wax adhere better to the hairs. HOWEVER, it is not suitable for everyone. Why?
Peeling should only be used on oily or combination skin to better remove excess sebum. It should NOT be applied to dry skin.
Dry and dehydrated skin is thinner, so our peeling scrub will remove most of the keratinized cells.
CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR WAXING CORRECTION
1. Breakouts on the face - specifically severe breakouts, as we could irritate the skin and provoke even more severe breakouts.
2. Large moles in the brow area, scars - for example, if we see a mole underneath, it's better not to define the lower line. It's also better not to work with wax if there are significant scars.
3. Retinoids, retinol in creams - why? Retinol is a treatment for problematic skin, and with its use, the skin becomes much thinner and more sensitive. If we use wax on thin skin, we might accidentally tear off the upper layer of skin and cause a wound.
4. Any serious skin conditions.
5. If lamination has been done and the client has sensitive skin. It’s better to use tweezers for brow correction instead. Brow correction with Beauty Master tweezers can be seen HERE.
